Inspirational people and organisations from across Waltham Forest were recognised during an award ceremony.

Nominees and dignitaries attended the annual Love Your Borough Awards on Friday, July 22 at Walthamstow Assembly Hall.

Organised by Waltham Forest council, organisations and idividual members of the community are nominated by the public to receive awards.

Winners on the night included Nat DiMaggio, who was awarded the Citizen of the Year prize for work with foodbank Eat or Heat and the Mill, which won the Arts, Culture and Heritage prize.

Council Leader Chris Robbins said: “One thing you can always expect from Waltham Forest is a strong community – one that stands out from the crowd and stands together.

“This year’s Love Your Borough Awards clearly showed just how much people care about their community and how many people are putting their heart and soul into all aspects of life here.

“The awards were our chance to show how proud Waltham Forest is of those who have helped to make life here even better, whether for one person or for us all.”
