Two new, state-of-the-art operating theatres have opened at Whipps Cross Hospital, after a £5 million renovation project.
The new theatres were opened during a ceremony last week by Leyton and Wanstead MP John Cryer.
Renovation work also includes a new corridor, which reduces the journey time for patients from wards to surgery.
Fiona Smith, interim managing director of Whipps Cross Hospital, said: “The new state of the art surgical complex provides a much improved environment from which to give high-quality surgical care to our patients.
“They provide our patients with a light and spacious area which will offer them a much better experience at Whipps Cross Hospital. I am delighted these theatres are up and running.”
