A HOSPITAL TRUST has welcomed its new junior doctors after an emotional goodbye to its old trainees.

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust (BHRUT) has 146 new junior doctors this year along with 57 new foundation year ones (FY1).

The new doctors will work across BHRUT’s two sites, King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford.

After they were welcomed by senior staff earlier this month they went through an intense induction session before starting their new rotations across different departments in both hospitals.

Head of medical education at BHRUT Caroline Curtin said: “There are lots of new faces across both of our hospitals at this time of year, and our new doctors in training across all grades are getting settled into their new posts.

“I’d like to thank our departing trainees for their hard work over the past year caring for our patients, and wish them all the best for their future careers.

“I hope to see them back at our hospitals as their onward training progresses.”

BHRUT received ‘requires improvement’ after its last Care Quality Commission (CQC) last year.
