The walk-in GP service at Oliver Road polyclinic in Leyton is set to end as of this week.
A drop-in clinic at the centre, which is located on the site of Leyton Orient’s Matchroom Stadium, will close tomorrow (Wednesday, August 31).
Other services at the site, including GP practices for registered patients, will not be affected by the change.
NHS Waltham Forest Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), which is responsible for planning most health services in the borough, decided to close the service following a public consultation last year.
The CCG has advised patients suffering from common illnesses such as coughs and colds to visit their local pharmacist.
Alternatively, weekend GP and nurse appointments can be booked at hubs in Chingford, Walthamstow, Leyton or Leytonstone by calling: 020 8519 3999 between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday, or 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
