Weather

There is a return to the heights of summer today, with temperatures set to peak at about 30°C around 4pm. Bright sunshine is expected to last all day. It is also set to be a very warm night tonight, with temperatures only dropping down to 20°C by 7am tomorrow.                                             

Although temperatures should drop tomorrow, Thursday is expected to see highs of 27°C.

Tube

7.12am: There are currently delays between Liverpool Street and Chingford due to a faulty train. There is a good service on other London Overground routes.

There are also minor delays on the Piccadilly Line due to engineering work finishing late.

Update 8.26am: There is a good service on all lines in the area.

Travel

A 24-hour bus strike affecting 20 Transport for London routes has ended.

7.19am: There is heavy traffic on the M25 anticlockwise between junction 27 for the M11 near Epping and junction 26 in Waltham Abbey.

Traffic is moving slowly on the M11 southbound at junction seven in Hastingwood because of an earlier accident. All lanes have re-opened. There is congestion to junction eight at Bishop’s Stortford.

There is heavy traffic on the M11 southbound between junction five at Loughton and junction four in Woodford.

A car fire on the A406 North Circular Road westbound had blocked one lane and slowed traffic between Woodford and Waterworks Corner.

There is queuing traffic on the A406 North Circular Road southbound between South Woodford and Redbridge Roundabout.

The A406 North Circular Road westbound also has heavy traffic in Palmers Green between Great Cambridge Junction and the A109 Bounds Green Road junction.

Traffic is queuing on the A12 into town between the Beehive Lane junction and Redbridge Roundabout.
