POOR gas safety can lead to “disastrous consequences” and landlords are being urged to act responsibly and have their gas appliances regularly checked.
The warning comes as more than 65,000 organisations have teamed up with the Gas Safe Register to mark Gas Safety Week, which runs from September 19 to 25.
Landlords are urged to use a qualified engineer to maintain appliances to protect their tenants.
Individual appliances should be serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidance and work in a rental properties should be carried out by a certified Gas Safe-registered engineer.
