Are you a woman or used to know someone who worked at the Ford Dagenham plant between 1968 and 1984?

The Queen's Theatre, in Hornchurch, wants to hear any real life stories you may have to tell at their Women's Stories of Ford Dagenham event, on Saturday, October 15, from 2pm until 4pm.

The project coincides with the theatre's recent production of Made in Dagenham musical, which followed the Ford sewing machinists who went on strike in 1968 and fought for equal pay, after discovering the women were being paid less than men and deemed less skilled.

In partnership with the Havering Museum, the theatre will be holding a Ford Dagenham themed afternoon to give people the opportunity to reminisce with tea, coffee and cake.

The project aims to understand what it was really like to work at the factory and how important the plant was in shaping the lives of the communities within Dagenham, Barking and Havering.
