A CCTV image of four teenagers the moment before a boy was chased into a newsagent has been released.

Police have released a photo of the four teens they would like to speak to in connection with an assault in Newham on Sunday, August 21.

Officers were called just after 6.30pm to the Lonsdale Store on Lonsdale Avenue, Newham, after a liquid was thrown on a shop assistant.

The four suspects chased a boy into the store, when the sales assistant blocked the door to prevent them from entering.

When he confronted them outside, he had a colourless liquid thrown at his face which caused severe itching and discomfort.

He did not require medical attention.

Police are appealing for help to identity the four suspects. 

The first suspect is described as a black teenager wearing a grey hooded top, grey trousers and brown trainers.

The second suspect is described as a white teenager wearing a grey hooded top, grey tracksuit trousers and brown trainers

The third suspect is described as a black teenager wearing a light purple hooded top, dark grey baseball cap, white knee length shorts and black trainers.

The fourth suspect is described as a white teenager wearing a black hooded top over a white shirt, dark grey tracksuit trousers and white trainers.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the four teenagers shown on CCTV or who witnessed the incident.

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
