AN ANTI-TERRORISM investigation is underway after a suspicion item was left at a tube station.
The Met Police’s Counter Terrorism Command is still investigating after an unattended package was left at North Greenwich Station around 11am (Thursday, October 20).
A spokesman said: “While we are keeping an open mind, the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command is leading the investigation because it has the expertise to deal with incidents of this kind.
“Specialist officers from the Met and British Transport Police are in attendance and a controlled detonation has since taken place to ensure the item is safe.”
Been 4 hours since North Greenwich closed due to a 'bomb scare' - I'd say it's a bit more than just a scare. Any updates @metpoliceuk?

The Jubilee Line was closed for four hours until around 3pm, but North Greenwich Station remains closed.
Commuters took to Twitter to voice their frustrations on the closures, after surrounding Central, District and Hammersmith and City trains bore the brunt of the congestion.
Nothing like a security threat and a suspicious package next to uni to make the day exciting #NorthGreenwich
