A MAN has been arrested after a chemical scare which led to the evacuation of London City Airport.
The 25-year-old suspect was arrested on Saturday (October 22) under terror laws after being accused of using a noxious substance to cause serious damage.
About 500 people were evacuated from the airport on Friday (October 21) as some passengers and staff were treated for breathing problems.
He has since been released on bail until late November.
The Met said the man was arrested at a residential address in east London and taken to a west London police station.
Two people were taken to hospital during the alert and 25 others were treated at the scene.
The airport's closure saw suspensions to all flights, with several incoming flights diverted to other airports.
