HUNDREDS of children turned orange for the day as they plodded through the forest dressed as pumpkins.

More than 500 kids and adults took part in Haven House Children’s Hospice biggest ever pumpkin plod, which set off from its grounds in Woodford Green on Sunday (October 23).

Spooky marshals lined the 2k and 5k routes giving the children a chance to dive for tricks or treats in tanks full of gunge.

Haven House’s Henry the Hound leads the way

Haven House chief executive, Mike Palfreman singled out the contribution made by The Woodford restaurant, in High Road, Woodford, which sponsored the event.

He added: “This year’s Pumpkin Plod has exceeded all of our expectations with a record number of plodders raising funds for local life-limited children and their families.

“To have five times as many plodders compared to last year is a fantastic achievement and shows we are reaching a wider audience with our events.”
