Which dental practice fitted fixed braces that fell apart the following day and who was told to take pain killers to treat an infection from a dodgy crown?

The worst rated dentists in East London have been revealed, based on patient reviews on NHS Choices.

Lea Bridge Dental Practice, Lea Bridge Road, Leyton

Rating: 2 stars

One person is refusing to go for treatment anymore at the Lea Bridge Dental Practice after paying for a white crown as private service, but instead being given a black crown on NHS service. They said they developed an infection under the crown after one year but was told to just “use paracetamol” to treat the pain. Another reviewer was “not at all pleased” with their temporary crown either, as it gave them “severe pain” but they were also told to take pain killers.

Mr Khalilibegloo’s Practice, Chingford Road, Walthamstow

Rating: 2.5 stars

This dental surgery was slammed for poor service, with one reviewer admitting they “got better advice from the local pharmacist” and also complained the surgery was only open until 4pm four days a week, which wasn’t always convenient.

Leyton Dental Surgery, High Road, Leyton

Rating: 2.5 stars

The service at Leyton Dental Surgery was also deemed “poor”, as one person complained that a filling between their two front teeth ended up trapping the nerves and gave them “severe toothache”. Someone else said they couldn’t get an appointment within two weeks and was told to “go somewhere else”.

Dental Surgery, High Street, Wanstead

Rating: 1 star

The Dental Surgery received four patient reviews, but three only gave a one star rating and had plenty to complain about.

One person said they were left “disappointed and upset” after they weren’t asked beforehand whether they wanted private or NHS care. Without the clarification, the person ended up forking out for unwanted private care.

Another commenter was “appalled” by the amount of waiting time and also felt it wasn’t explained clearly that not all treatments were provided by NHS care and instead were private.

Another person was left angry about being kept waiting for 20 minutes and said they “only got called in after threatening to walk out”.

Rydal Orthodontic Clinic, High Road, Woodford Green

Rating: 1 star

The quality of the fixed braces were criticised by a patient’s parent, who said their “son’s wires came off one week after fitting, and after they were fixed, the wires and brackets came off the very next day.”
