A SENIOR policeman has denied making hundreds of pounds’ worth of false expenses claims.
DC Dennis Weeks, of Gordon Road, Wanstead, pleaded not guilty to 12 charges of fraud by false representation at Southwark Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday, October 26).
The 45-year-old Redbridge detective was put under investigation two years ago after the fraud allegations against him came to light.
At the time DC Weeks was deputy secretary of the Metropolitan Police Federation, the staff association for all 30,000 officers in London.
He resigned from his job with the federation two months later and has been on restricted duties ever since.
His trial will start on May 2 next year.
