A POLITICIAN has traded the House of Commons for the rigours of a fire station for a Bonfire Night safety message.
Iain Duncan Smith, the Conservative MP for Chingford and Woodford Green, visited Chingford’s fire station, in The Ridgeway, ahead of Guy Fawkes Night on Saturday (November 5).
Mr Duncan Smith met the borough commander, Jamie Jenkins, and some of the men and women keeping the community safe during this testing time for firefighters.
He said: "Guy Fawkes is a wonderful time of the year enjoyed by many but we must remember those firefighters that will be working so hard during the fireworks weekend to keep us all safe.
"I would like to wish all my constituents a happy fireworks night."
