THE Duke of Kent is making a Royal visit to a £26million sports complex.

His Royal Highness Prince Edward toured the Waltham Forest Feel Good Centre, in Chingford Road, Walthamstow, today (November 3).

The multi-million pound complex opened its doors last month, but the 81-year-old Royal marks its official opening.

While he did not try out the facilities, the Duke of Kent was certainly impressed by the 9.9metre climbing walls and adventure zone set across four levels.

HRH said he had never seen anything like the centre anywhere else.

He added: "I reckon you're in advance of the rest of the country.

"I wish it great success and many congratulations on bringing it into fruition."

The first to meet the Royal were some schoolchildren from the nearby Chapel End Junior Academy in Roberts Road, in Walthamstow.

The school rewarded the three best behaved kids from each class over the last half-term to enjoy the play centre.

Eduard Stanciou, 8, was the first to talk to the Queen's first cousin, making his birthday all the more special.

Eduard said: "He said happy birthday to me and asked me how many times I have been here.

"It is my third time and my fourth will be tomorrow when I come here for my birthday party."

Merdy Bayaunda, also 8, said he didn't know who he was but it was cool to see the Royal family.

Elsewhere in the centre is a 25 metre, eight-lane competition pool, teaching pool, four-court sports hall, two studios overlooking the track, a new 132-station gym and changing facilities.
