Plans for a large secondary school expansion have been submitted ahead of an anticipated “dramatic” rise in demand for places.
Essex County Council has submitted the planning application for the new two storey detached building at Roding Valley High School in Alderton Hill, Loughton.
The block, which would contain six classrooms, a library and other facilities, will be considered by Epping Forest District Council.
The application comes as the school hopes to expand at a rate of 30 year seven places per year.
Education councillor Ray Gooding previously said: “The demand for secondary school places in the Loughton area is expected to rise dramatically over the next decade as a result of local development and larger year groups coming through.”
