POLICE are tracing a man who launched an unprovoked and sudden attack on two teenage brothers as they waited for a bus.

At around 5pm on Monday, September 26, the brothers, aged 16 and 17, were waiting for 173 or 175 bus near a Tesco Express in Heathway, Dagenham, when they noticed a man was staring at them.

Ignoring the man, the youngest brother got ready to board an arriving bus, but was suddenly attacked by the suspect.

The man punched the boy several times in the face before he fell to the floor.

Concerned for the safety of his brother, the second victim kicked the suspect, but he continued assaulting the 16-year-old on the floor.

He then began assaulting the older boy by punching him several times in the face and head.

Both boys managed to get away from the suspect and boarded another bus that came by. Officers attended the home address of the two victims and were found to be suffering from facial and head injuries.

Both boys were seen by the London Ambulance Service.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged in his mid-20s and 5ft 8ins tall.

He was wearing a grey hooded top, dark blue jeans with black Nike Air trainers.

Anyone with information or any witnesses are urged to contact PC Naomi Goodman via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
