Walthamstow youngsters with disabilities and special educational needs took part in a London-wide football tournament finals.
Pupils from Whitefield School had battled through regional qualifying to represent their area at the Panathlon London Football Finals at Wembley Goals Centre yesterday (Tuesday, November 29).
The school’s team ended in seventh place out of the eight teams taking part.
Overall 143 children from across London took part on the day with 125 goals scored in 48 matches.
A total of 555 children played over the course of the four regional qualifiers, plate competition and finals day.
The programme was organised by Panathlon, a charity which delivers competitive sport opportunities to over 10,000 young disabled people every year.
Whitefield pupil Teshon Sousablackett, 14, said: “We played hard and although we struggled to start with we started to get some good team spirit going as the day went on.
“We never gave up and we kept trying. I have really enjoyed it.”
