The parents of a three-month-old baby boy who died in hospital have been charged with murder.
Mohammed Miah, 36, and Rebeka Nazmin, 31, both of St Leonard's Road, Poplar, appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday, November 18.
Rifat Mohammed died in hospital on Tuesday, July 5.
Both parents were charged with causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) and two counts of child cruelty.
The GBH charges were withdrawn and charges of murder of their son were laid for each of them.
The child cruelty charges against Rebeka Nazmin were also withdrawn.
Both defendants are also charged with causing the death of a child.
A trial date has been set for Monday, February 27 2017 at the Old Bailey.
