A DRIVER was arrested after a young motorcyclist was killed after being thrown from his bike in a late night crash with a car.

Paramedics found the 23-year-old man unconscious in Orient Way, Leyton, after crashing with a car just after 9pm on yesterday (November 30).

The young man was pronounced dead at 9.46pm.

His next of kin have been informed with a formal identification and post-mortem examination due to take place.

The car stopped at the scene and a 49-year-old man was arrested for a number of offences including causing death by dangerous driving.

He is currently in custody at an east London police station.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating.
