Six people have been left homeless after a fire completely destroyed two static caravans.
The blaze burned for more than an hour after firefighters were called at about 1.30pm yesterday (December 1), at a farm in Sedge Green, Waltham Abbey.
Essex Fire and Rescue Service said seven gas cylinders were involved in the fire, with one exploding.
Firefighters from Harlow, Waltham Abbey and Loughton managed to cool the other cylinders and make them safe.
The fire crews surrounded the blaze, which also destroyed two outbuildings, and extinguished it by 2.52pm.
The Red Cross was requested to help the six people who have been made homeless.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
