A man has been jailed after stabbing his victim and leaving him slumped in a car.

Remell Tulloch, 25, of Romford Road, Forest Gate, stabbed his victim as he sat in a Toyota Yaris in Borwick Avenue, Walthamstow, on March 16 2015.

Police found the man in his 20s with stab wounds in the car after being called at 8.25pm.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition and after prolonged medical treatment he was discharged but has been left with permanent scarring.

The victim had been sitting in a car with another man, when someone threw a brick through the window before the attack.

Two other men who were arrested and charged pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm through joint enterprise in September 2015.

Matthew Richardson, 23 of Aldborough Road South, Ilford, was sentenced to three years' imprisonment.

Daniel Mutombo, 25, of Westley Road, Basildon, who was charged on March 17 2016, was jailed for two years and 10 months.

Tulloch was charged on March 3 2016.

He was sentenced to four years after being found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, December 2.

He was also given a two year sentence for two counts of possession with intent to supply drugs, to be served concurrently with the GBH.

Tulloch was sentenced to 18 months for burglary and ordered to serve 18 months of a suspended sentence in relation to another burglary.

Detective Constable Andy McAlister, from Waltham Forest Criminal Investigation Department, said: "This conviction sends out a strong message that we do not tolerate knife crime.

“The injuries the victim sustained will remain with him forever, and nothing can change that.

“Hopefully the sentence passed by the court will give confidence to the victim that the criminal justice system is able to punish those that act outside the law."
