TWO men were fined £1,400 after dumping rubbish and running away from police.
Daniel Serban, 39, and Iulian Tiganoiu, 40, both of the same address in Park Avenue, Barking, admitted fly-tipping at Barkingside Magistrates Court at separate hearings on November 25 and December 1.
Both men work for a company called First Step Property Services Ltd in Coventry Road, Ilford, which clears out people’s homes, collects and delivers furniture.
In February Serban told Tiganoiu to deliver kitchen appliances to a flat in Barkingside High Street.
But after they finished the job on March 1, the packaging for the appliances was found dumped on a big pile of dumped rubbish and traced back to their company.
They were due to appear in court on November 11, but after failing to turn up police put a warrant out for their arrest.
After they were caught, they were fined £775 and £615 respectively.
Former Redbridge Council cabinet member for civic pride Cllr Ross Hatfull said: “This case highlights how we will clamp down on anyone who fails to play their part in keeping the borough clean and breaks the law.”
