Health bosses are asking for patient’s views ahead of plans to roll out a late-night GP service in Waltham Forest.

A trial run of the scheme was launched by NHS Waltham Forest Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) at four doctor’s surgeries in June 2015.

If plans are given the green light, patients in the borough would be able to see their GP between 8am and 9.30pm on weekdays and from 8am to 8pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Residents can currently book an appointment between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 5pm at the weekend.

Dr Anwar Khan, Chair of Waltham Forest CCG said: “The service has now been in operation for over a year.

“Feedback has shown that it is well valued by the patients who have used it but we want to gather the views of more residents in the borough.

“People also tell us that it is difficult for them to get a GP appointment at times.

“We have here a chance to increase the availability of booked appointments, but we need local residents to share their thoughts with us first.”

The CCG is asking local people to have their say on proposals to extend the hours by completing a survey by January 15.
