MP for Walthamstow Stella Creasy held a citizens workshop for primary school pupils to teach them about democracy and the passing of laws.

The workshop for Year 5 pupils at Coppermill Primary School in Coppermill Lane, Walthamstow, involved pupils suggesting new laws.

The Labour MP gave the children the task of coming up with arguments for and against the laws and spoke of the importance of voting in our society.

Assistant Head Teacher, Will Power, said: “Stella was very child-friendly and good at engaging the pupils.

“The purpose of the workshop was to give them a taste of what being an MP is about and the children loved it.

“One child suggested a law that all children should get free Apple watches. It was child-like but she was good at managing them.”
