A man was beaten in his own home after two masked men forced their way into the property.

The victim, a man in his early 50s, was at home in Ewellhurst Road, Clayhall, on Thursday, January 5, when the attack took place.

Two men and a woman attended the property at around 3pm and rang the doorbell.

When the man answered, the two masked men forced their way into the property, before punching and kicking the man, leaving him bruised and shaken.

DC Richard Hardy, of Redbridge CID, said: "It would appear that this was a planned attack on the victim and although his injuries were not serious, this was a frightening ordeal.

“We are trying to locate any witnesses to this assault and are appealing for any information that could assist in identifying the suspects."

The woman is described as Asian, while the two men involved in the attack were described as white.

Detectives retain an open mind as to the motives behind the assault.
