SEVEN people have been charged following a series of arrests in connection with crimes involving mopeds in dawn raids.

Fifteen search warrants were executed and properties in Hackney, Haringey and Enfield were among those raided on Tuesday (January 31).

Over 100 police were involved in the operation that saw 12 people arrested.

Mohammed Ali, 23, of no fixed abode but from the Hackney area has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary between May 1 and August 17 2016. He will appear in court at a later date.

Mohammed Hussain, 23, of Goulton Road, Hackney, has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit robbery between May 1 and November 27 2016.

Dylan Castano Lopez, 19, of Rust Square, Camberwell, has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary between May 1 and November 27 2016.

Alfie Kennedy, 20, of Arlington Avenue, Islington, has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit robbery between May 1 and November 27 2016.

Chris Conti, 19, of North Circular Road, Palmers Green, has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit robbery between May 1 and November 27 2016.

Josh Newman, 20, of Stanhope Street, Euston, has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary between May 1 and November 27 2016.

Hussain, Castano Lopez, Kennedy, Conti and Newman are all due to appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday February 1.

Bobby Kennedy, 21, of no fixed abode but from the Islington area has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary between May 1 and October 14 2016. He will appear in court at a later date.

Five other males aged between 15 and 24 years were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to rob and bailed.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to rob and remains in custody.

The arrests and charges come after five months of Operation Vocare to dismantle an organised crime gang who use mopeds in a variety of offences across north London.
