THE CHICKEN Connoisseur has answered calls to bring his viral food reviews to east London in his quest to find “the pengest munch”.

Donning his usual shirt and tie the internet sensation rolled up to KRFC Chicken and Ribs, in Walthamstow, to critique its offering.

Ordering chicken wings, a burger, and chips, the connoisseur rates them out of five, and he never holds back on the criticism.

He went viral back in December, with his videos trying fried chicken around the capital attracting over a million viewers each online.

Despite gaining fame and notoriety, it seems the production value is the only thing changing, with the connoisseur sticking to London’s low-key chicken shops.

East London and West Essex Guardian Series:

Wings were 'piffington'

Back in Walthamstow, the chips were “very slightly over-fried” and “oily” but the texture was “on point”, earning them an average 3.2 out of 5.

The wings on the other hand were “succulent and juicy” with that “nice crunch” from the “boss man”, who spiced them up with an “original peng seasoning”.

Size was not an issue, the wings were a “wedge ting” scoring an impressive 4.6 out of 5.

Finishing things off as always is the chicken burger, which drew immediate criticism for the levels of salad.

This had the connoisseur “vexed” to the point he had to pull some of the abundant lettuce out.

While the chicken strips inside the burger were “a bit skinny” the breading on them was a “crunchy ting” leaving the score a middle-of-the-road 3.3 out of 5.

With Walthamstow safely on the fried chicken map, it begs the question - where is next?
