A MAN was found shot and stabbed in a car outside a 21st birthday party.
The 22-year-old was found in Ilford Town Centre during the early hours of Sunday morning outside Praba Banqueting Suite in Ilford.
People described the area as being like a "war zone", and Samuel Kelley tweeted: "Loads of police vans, police cars and ambulances and people. The joys of getting the night bus to work."
The function room is described as “one of London’s classiest banqueting” locations which allows “No drugs, guns, knives or weapons.”
A Met Police spokesman said: “At 4.57am on Sunday police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to a man injured in High Road, Ilford.
“Officers found an injured 22-year-old man inside a car. He was taken to an east London hospital where he remains with serious injuries.
“The man is believed to have been shot and also sustained minor knife injuries. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
One man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and police are investigating.
