A MAN was detained under the Mental Health Act after threatening to jump off a bridge into busy traffic.
Met Police officers and London Ambulance Service staff spent over an hour trying to talk down a man from jumping onto the A406 North Circular in South Woodford last night (Wednesday, February 15).
@Glennstokes1970 @LaraGuardian police on the bridge at South Woodford and ambulance at ready, I'm guessing at a possible jumper. Guessing.

Police were first called to the ring road at 9.59pm to “reports of someone threatening to harm themselves”.
When they arrived they found a man, believed to be in his 20s, on the wrong side of the North Circular Barriers near the High Road bridge.
At 11.08 the man came away from the edge and was detained under the Mental Health Act.
The incident closed traffic for around an hour, with queues tailing back for miles.
The road reopened at around 11.20pm.
