A MAN was stabbed after refusing to give two teenagers a cigarette.

Police were called to Colvin Gardens in Wanstead at 10.50pm on Tuesday (February 14).

When they arrived they found a man, believed to be in his 30s, who had been stabbed in the stomach.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "The victim was approached by two teenage boys who asked for a cigarette.

"When the victim declined he was stabbed in the stomach."

He was taken to an east London hospital where he remains with "serious" injuries.

There have been no arrests but officers are investigating the incident.
