An east London teenager is among five arrested on suspicion of terrorism.

After the Met Police’s counter terrorism command arrested a 17-year-old and 16-year-old in south London and a 17-year-old and 19-year-old in west London yesterday (February 20), a 15-year-old from east London has also been taken in for questioning.

He was arrested at a residential address following searches at a number of homes across the capital.

They are all being held on suspicion of preparing acts of terror and planning to travel abroad to join potential terrorist groups.

They are still in custody at a police station in central London.
