STORM Doris is wreaking havoc across east London after reports of woman being killed by fallen debris. 

The woman suffered very serious head injuries after a piece of debris fell onto a street in Wolverhampton.

Fallen debris and trees now litter much of east London, with weather watchers taking dramatic pictures of the storm's devastation.

Redbridge Council has taken a precautionary step by closing all parks to avoid any serious injuries.

Ambulance crews across the country have been called to several casualties with people being injured by falling trees and debris as well as being blown over.

Flights have been cancelled while there is road and rail disruption across much of Britain.

Carole Morgan spotted this terrible sight in Hale End Road, in Walthamstow, just after 2pm.

She said: "So sorry to be the bearer of bad news for a couple of car owners parked on Hale End Road."

PC Darren Brand was on hand to help fire crews after strong winds blew shop hoardings at The Bookshop, in Station Road, Chingford.

Luke Levine witnessed a scene of chaos in George Lane, South Woodford, as scaffolding was blown from a building, threatening the cars below. 

Weather watcher, Mark Savage, spotted a tree blown over in Leyton at 1pm.

Upping the stakes in Highams Park, is an even bigger felled tree, spotted by Hanna Dillon McGhee just after 12pm.

Cars were made to drive around this fallen tree in Sewardstone Road, in Chingford, spotted by Mark Humphris just after 12pm.  

Major delays are being caused in Epping High Street after a tree fell across the road. A clean-up operation is now underway.
