TRAVELLERS have set up camp in a supermarket car park.
Nearly a dozen caravans and motorhomes set up shop in the Sainsbury’s superstore car park, in Walthamstow Avenue, Chingford.
Shoppers raised the alarm yesterday (February 23) as they were made to compete for parking spaces with the illegal occupants.
Conservative cllr Jemma Hemsted, of Valley ward, said: “I have contacted the council for more information and intend to work with them alongside residents to get a satisfactory result as soon as possible.”
Sainsbury’s has been contacted for comment.
