A teenager from Waltham Forest has been charged with a string of terror offences.

The boy, who is just 15 years old and cannot be named for legal reasons, was one of five teenagers arrested on Monday, February 20, after an operation by the Met’s Counter-Terrorism Command.

He was charged yesterday (Friday February 24) with collection of information, contrary to section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and two counts of dissemination of terrorist publications.

He was due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court today.

Police say the charges relate to a supposed plot to travel and join a terrorist organisation.

Four residential addresses across London were initially raided by officers in connection with the investigation on February 14.

Police have also charged a 17-year-old from Merton, a 17-year-old from Hounslow, a 16-year-old from Lambeth and Ahmedeltigani Alsyed, 19, from Hounslow, following the operation.
