CHILDREN of different faiths have been busy getting creative to brighten up the borough for Easter.
Youngsters from across Redbridge took part in half term holiday workshops where they made banners and musical instruments for the borough’s annual Easter Parade next month.
The sessions at the Clementswood Community Centre in Ilford will continue every Saturday until March 11 to make sure the parade on Easter Monday (April 17) is the best yet.
Chairman of British Pakistani Christian Association Wilson Chowdhry said: ”Our classes were well attended and had a mixture of children from wide ranging diversities, including Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims.
“We intentionally made our event inclusive as God's love is for all, as the bible tells us.
"All the children will be joining us for the Easter Parade.
"I cannot express how important it is to be in the town centre on the big day when the party begins.”
The parade will start at 2pm on April 17, reaching Ilford Town Centre at around 3pm. A music festival organised by churches and Christian organisations will brighten up the entrance to Redbridge Town Hall in Ilford High Road from 1pm to 5pm.
