THE BODY of an east London university student has been found nearly 90 kilometres away on a beach in East Sussex.

The body of Jer Le Leow, 23, was recovered from a beach in Holywell, in East Sussex, nearly two months after he failed to attend a lecture at Queen Mary University, in Mile End.

Jer Le had not been seen or heard from since January 12 but following a sighting in the Eastbourne area, officers were led to a nearby beach.

The body of a dead man, matching his description, was recovered on Friday, February 3, and later confirmed as Jer Le.

In a statement posted online Jer Le’s family said: “We would also like to take this opportunity to remember and cherish all the happy memories we have had with Jer Le.

“Jer Le was a loving son, a wonderful brother and an amazing cousin. He was a cheerful and jovial lad, he was also known for his passion with technology and kindness towards people.

“Jer Le, we will always remember you and be grateful for the opportunity to share our lives with you. We wish you find peace and happiness wherever you are now.”

His death is not being treated as suspicious.
