CHILDREN and adults wore fancy dress for Purim celebrations at a synagogue.
East London & Essex Liberal Synagogue celebrated the festival for the first time ever since merging from the Woodford Liberal Synagogue and the Bet Tikvah Synagogue.
The celebrations began with Havdalah followed by an animated reading of the Megillah. They then ate famous ‘hamantaschen’, which is traditionally eaten during the festival.
Everyone was a winner during the fancy dress parade and members of the Hebrew class, as well as Rabbi David Hulbert, acted out play ‘The Purim Spiel that goes Wrong’.
