POLICE have named a man as the murder victim who was shot in the head.

Detectives have named the victim as 18-year-old David Adegbite, who died in hospital after being shot in the head in Barking, on Sunday, March 19.

Officers were called just after 7pm to reports of a shooting in St Ann’s, Barking.

On arrival, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the head.

Medics took him to hospital but he later died at 10.25pm.

The victim’s next of kin have been informed.

On Tuesday, March 21, a post-mortem held at Queens Hospital Mortuary gave the cause of death as a gunshot wound.

A 20-year-old and a 19-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder have both made bail.  

Leading the investigation, DCI Jamie Piscopo said: "I am continuing to appeal for anyone who was in the area of St Ann's at around the time of David’s murder and who saw anything suspicious to contact police.

"My team continue to work to establish the series of events which led to this murder and, at this early stage, retain an open mind as to the motive."
