An east London woman arrested in connection with the Westminster terror attack will not face charges.

Officers launched a string of raids after attacker Khalid Masood killed four people and injured dozens more last Wednesday (March 22).

A 39-year-old woman was arrested at an address in east London on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts on Thursday and later bailed.

However, police have now confirmed the woman will not face any further action.

Officers carried out raids on properties in Stratford, Forest Gate, Birmingham and Manchester last week, making eleven arrests.

Over Friday and Saturday, nine of those held were released without charge and will not face further action.

A 32-year-old woman arrested in Manchester has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in late March.

A 58-year-old man was arrested on Thursday morning at an address in Birmingham remains in custody detained under the Terrorism Act 2000.

Masood, 52, launched his attack by driving over Westminster Bridge in a hire car, running several people over before crashing the vehicle into gates at the Houses of Parliament.

The fanatic then stabbed PC Keith Palmer, who was on duty at the Palace of Westminster, before he was shot dead by armed officers.

Police conducted raids as part of an effort to determine whether Masood acted alone.
