WITNESSES to a “brutal” stabbing at an off-licence that left a 21-year-old man dead are being asked to come forward.

Ahmed Deen-Jah was stabbed in Freeemasons Road in Canning Town shortly before 3.30pm on Sunday April 2.

Mr Deen-Jah was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination gave cause of death as a stab wound to the heart.

Four arrests have been made in connection with the murder.

Three men, two aged 21 and a 20-year-old man, were arrested on Sunday April 2 on suspicion of murder and have been bailed to a date in April.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday April 4 and he remains in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Holmes said: "This was a particularly brutal attack on a young man.

“We are still trying to establish the circumstances behind this incident, and we are appealing to anybody who was in the Freemasons area at around the time of the attack or who lives nearby and may have seen or heard something to come forward and speak to officers or Crimestoppers as soon as possible."
