Police want to speak to the driver of a car that left the scene of a crash in which a motorcyclist was killed.

The incident happened in Dagenham Road at around 4.15pm on Tuesday, January 10.

Derek Gomes, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem gave the cause of death as multiple injuries.

Police investigating the incident want to speak with the female driver of a silver four door Peugoet, who left the scene after the crash.

Detective Constable Alan Curtis, said: “I am particularly keen to speak with the female driver of a silver four door Peugeot. She is believed to have manoeuvred her car across the eastbound carriageway as Derek’s KTM690 motorcycle approached.

“She left the scene after his motorbike collided with the wall and before emergency services arrived. I would urge her to contact us. I would also like to speak with anyone else who witnessed the collision and is yet to come forward.”
