A POLICEWOMAN has been struck off for attempting to cover her tracks after testing positive for cocaine.

Police Constable Toni Harris was dismissed by The Met following a misconduct hearing on Friday (April 7).

In December, 2015, PC Harris was called in for a random drugs test, which came back positive for cocaine.

When questioned about the drugs test, Scotland Yard found the Barking and Dagenham copper to be “untruthful”.

A Met spokesperson said: “The officer had a case to answer in respect of the Standards of Professional Behaviour under: honesty and integrity, discreditable conduct and fitness for duty.”

Detective Chief Superintendent Matt Gardner Directorate of Professional Standards said: "To serve the public, police officers must be honest and act with integrity as a basic standard.

“PC Harris used illegal drugs and invented an untruthful account to cover up her misconduct. The chair was right in their decision for dismissal.”
