A THUG attacked a man, spraying him with acid before dragging him to the floor and stealing his car.

The 43-year-old victim from Tunbridge Wells, was sitting in his black Volkswagen Golf in Palmerston Road, Buckhurst Hill just before 6:50pm on Sunday, April 16, when he was attacked.

A man walked up to the car, sprayed him with a “noxious substance” and told the victim to get out.

The attacker then drove off in the car.

The incident comes only two months after 19-year-old Bradley Robinson was attacked with acid in his car in Loughton, which left him blind for more than two weeks.

It is unclear whether Essex Police are linking the acid attacks, but they were previously investigating a link between Michael Watson’s attack in Chingford two weeks after Bradley was attacked.

There has been a rise in reported acid attack in recent weeks, with former Premier League footballer, Jamie O’Hara, the most recent to speak out after his cousin was burned when acid was sprayed across a nightclub in Hackney, East London.

The suspect is black, between 17 and 25 and was wearing a dark blue or black hooded top.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
