VETERANS of a football club met up after more than 30 years and laced their boots up.
Players from Epping Forest Football Club met at North Weald Golf Club on Sunday, April 11, to play a five-a-side walking football match.
The team, which began in 1970, started at under 16 level and soon became a men’s squad with two different teams.
They climbed seven divisions in the Harlow league and won the Junior Intercounty cup.
The team folded in 1980, but many players stayed in touch.
More than 20 of them attended the event.
Martin Slade, a former player, said: “We had a great reunion on Sunday, considering we disbanded over 30 years ago.
“So many years on, we are still friends and we are still playing football.”
