A POLICE OFFICER is set to go on trial accused of attacking a suspect's car with a knife.
PC Joshua Savage, of Hermon Hill, Wanstead, has been put on restricted duties by the Met Police until a misconduct review can take place.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court yesterday (April 20) charged with common assault, possession of a knife, criminal damage, and threatening behaviour.
A video filmed by the driver, which went viral online soon after the incident in Vicars Road, Camden, on September 16 2016, appears to show a police officer smashing a car windscreen during a stop and search before sawing it with a knife.
The officer then confronts the driver.
PC Savage will appear at Southwark Crown Court on May 18 after denying all four charges.
