A MAN is wanted by police after a 21-year-old woman was followed from a Victoria line train.

On two occasions in March, she noticed a stranger acting suspiciously follow her from a train and apparently wait for her at the escalators at Walthamstow Central tube station.

She was not injured during these incidents but was left feeling upset and nervous about using the underground.

Police are releasing CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the harassment, with officers linking the incident to a sexual assault in February.

On Thursday, February 23, a man approached a woman in her 40s to help assist her to the platform at Marble Arch station.

He then began making sexual comments and touching her inappropriately.

Investigating officer, Det Con Andrew Parkinson said: “I would like to speak to the man shown in the CCTV images as he may have information which could help with the investigation into these two incidents, which we now believe are linked.

“The harassment against the woman at Walthamstow Central has left the victim feeling very intimidated and unsafe. Officers are supporting her as the investigation continues.

“It is vital that we trace the man responsible so that we can establish the full circumstances of the harassment incidents.”

If you recognise the man in the CCTV images, contact police on 0800 40 50 40 or by texting 61016 quoting reference number 175 21/04/17.
