A CHARITY that encourages arts and culture is celebrating its 20th birthday.

The Christian Drama Resource Centre, in High Road, Loughton, provides costumes to drama projects around the Epping Forest district and registered as a charity in 1996.

The charity are now putting on a number of events over the weekend.

Co-founder, Andrea Moles, said: “We have been run on volunteer power up until now. Some of our volunteers have been very giving of their time, energy and resources for over 10 years.

“The impact of our costume hire, script library, bespoke shows and storytelling services has been immense and the word is getting out.”

They have recently hired their first paid staff member, Ruth Soundarajah.

She said: “What Andrea and the team have achieved over the years is a class act. It’s clear to see that volunteers are the life blood of this organisation. We want to openly invite those members of the community who have a spare day to give to register as a volunteer.”
