The Guardian Series has teamed up with Whittingham Kennels in Waltham Abbey to help gorgeous greyhounds find a forever home. Each week, we'll be featuring three pets who need to find new owners.

Freddie is three years old, happy and came into Whittingham Kennels to find a home. He hasn't had a home before as he's spent his whole life in kennels, so can't wait to find out about the adventures life has to offer beyond kennel life. He is clean in his kennell, love his food and a real favourite with walkers. He can even climb stairs.

Joe is two years old but will turn three in June. He has lived in a home so is used to the environment, and has had to come back to the kennels to find another home as he didn't like being along when his owner was at work. While Greyhounds can usually be left to their own devices for four to five hours, he really craved company. He'd be ideal for someone who works from home or is retired. He walks nicely on the lead and loves his food. He is house trained and used to life away from the kennels, so they are keen to find a home for him quickly. He is good with other breeds, too.

Zebo is two-years-old and brindle in colour. He is slightly nervous until he gets to know someone, so would be ideally suited to going home with another dog to give him confidence and bring him out of his shell. He has never known anything other than kennels and came into Whittingham after racing at Henlow Stadium. He is clean in his kennel, good on the lead, but will need someone who can help him understand that life outside kennels is not scary. He is very affectionate once he gains your trust.
