FIREFIGHTERS could be battling as long as a week to put out a wood fire that started yesterday.
Essex Fire Brigade was called to a 60m by 30m wood pile alight at around 5pm (Tuesday, May 16) in Hoe Lane, Nazeing.

Three hours later eight fire engines and officers from the Environment Agency were still trying to put out the blaze, but experts claim it “is likely to take up to a week” because of the large volume of wood.
Hoe Lane will be closed while firefighters carry on tackling the flames.
